Milne's Hollow

"Milne's Hollow, as I first knew it, was sleepy hollow; a place of rank undergrowth, weeds, decrepit barns, sagging dwellings, of fruit trees overgrown with sucker shoots, of tall Elms.
(Sauriol, Remembering the Don, 1981, p. 86)

"Milne Hollow has scarcely raised a drowsy weedy head from the 'sleepy hollow' atmosphere of other years and perhaps it never will. It may go on as a green oasis of tranquility where people can find true relaxation, or it may ring with the sound of human endeavour, but of what kind, we do not know." (Sauriol, Remembering the Don, 1981, p 89)
